Okuoikojo Station stands on a small peninsula that sticks out into Lake Sessokyo, a reservoir created by the construction of the Nagashima Dam. On both sides of the peninsula, the Oku-Oi Rainbow Bridge of the Minami Alps Abt Line (Ikawa Line) crosses the lake, so the station looks as if it is floating on the water. It is a truly unusual station.

It is also known as “the station where lovers come together.”
This is the only viewpoint from which you can take the classic photo of the station, and it was crowded with tour groups.
