Enbara River
The Enbara River in Yamagata City is fed by spring water that rises from the riverbed. The water is so clear that the moss-covered rocks under the surface seem to float in the air. On summer mornings, mist and rays of light over the river attract many photographers.

Monet’s Pond
Monet’s Pond is a small pond next to Neyashiro Shrine in Seki City. It got its nickname because it closely resembles Claude Monet’s painting “Water Lilies.” Colorful koi swim through perfectly clear spring water among water lilies and water plants.
