The Walk to Yoro Falls
Yoro Falls is about a 20-minute walk from the parking lot. The area is beautiful with cherry blossoms in spring and red leaves in autumn.
The path is paved and wide enough to walk comfortably, and it follows a small mountain stream.
Along the way there are old-fashioned shops where you can eat and take a rest.
Yoro Falls
Yoro Falls is about 32 meters high and 4 meters wide, and it has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 best waterfalls. According to legend, a poor young man found that the water of this waterfall had turned into sake, which he gave to his elderly father. The story reached the emperor, and the era name was changed to “Yoro” (nourishing the old) in the 8th century.

The Site of Reversible Destiny
Inside Yoro Park is the Site of Reversible Destiny, an unusual art park designed by the artist Shusaku Arakawa and poet Madeline Gins. It is a huge bowl-shaped landscape of tilted ground, maze-like walls, winding paths and strange colorful buildings with narrow corridors and uneven floors. It is designed to upset your sense of balance and make you rethink how your body moves. Wear comfortable shoes, because the ground is steep and bumpy! From the top there is a wide view over the Nobi Plain.
