These are the cherry blossoms at Nagoya Castle, one of the most popular hanami spots in the city.
Cherry Blossoms Around the Castle
Hundreds of cherry trees line the moats and the massive stone walls of the castle. The pale pink blossoms reflected in the still water of the moat, with the green-roofed castle keep rising behind them, make a classic Nagoya spring scene.

Walking around the outer moat, the blossoms hang over the old stone walls, and pigeons peck at the grass below.

Meijo Park Flower Garden
Next to the castle, Meijo Park has a flower garden with a Dutch-style windmill. In spring, beds of red, pink and yellow tulips and pansies bloom at the same time as the cherry trees.

The park’s lawns are also surrounded by cherry trees, a relaxing place for a picnic under the blossoms.
