Tsurumai Park is right in Nagoya City, just outside Tsurumai subway station. Opened in 1909, it is the oldest park in Nagoya, and its European-style fountain tower is a well-known landmark. Around 750 cherry trees bloom here in spring.
The tulips were also at their best, with bright red flowers blooming under the cherry trees.
If you have about an hour to spare, you can get here quickly by subway from Nagoya Station or Sakae. We also found pink peach blossoms and quiet corners of the Japanese garden.
